From April 11th to June 3rd, you can visit the new exhibition at Sala Alfajar. The tarot cards are interpreted by 22 different artists, in various formats.
Sala Alfajar hosts renowned artists, each in their own field, in this group exhibition. The exhibition will be open from April 11th to June 3rd, next to the Cathedral, at C/ Císter, 1, door 2, Málaga.

This exhibition brings together the work of 22 artists who have explored, through various techniques and approaches, the symbolism and meaning of the Tarot’s Major Arcana. Each work is a personal interpretation of a card, inviting us to discover how art dialogues with these universal archetypes, offering new readings and perspectives. Using ceramics, metal, paper, and all types of media, each artist has brought a card and its meaning to life, capturing their vision of it in their work. Among the artists are established names in the world of engraving, ceramics, and metalwork who have previously exhibited at Sala Alfajar.

The Tarot is a deck of playing cards that has been used since at least the 15th century in various parts of Europe. But it was not until the late 18th century that personalized decks appeared for use in divination, obtaining knowledge or intuitions about the past, present or future. They are also used as a tool for self-knowledge through reflection on the archetype present in each card. The 22 Major Arcana are known as trumps, which means “above all.” Full with symbolism and hidden messages, they are related to powerful archetypes, many of which are easily universally recognized such as The Magician, Justice, The Sun and The Moon. Curiously, the minor arcana are 56 cards divided into four suits: swords, cups, wands and coins, the cards that make up the Spanish deck.
