From December 12th to January 26th, you can visit the new exhibition at the Alfajar Gallery. Acrylic paint in works that bring landscapes to life and where color is the protagonist
Alfajar Sala presents the new paintings of Manolo Jurdao. The exhibition will be open from December 12th to January 26th, next to the Cathedral, at C/Císter, 1, door 2, Málaga.

Manolo Jurdao composes a whole from disparate fragments that, while possessing their own distinct character, adjust and transform their individual nature to form a cohesive and complete work. In all his pieces, figurative forms coexist with geometric elements within abstract settings composed of color. The paintings shown here are the result of several years of work, from which a selection has been made for this exhibition.

Continuing with his recent exhibitions, Manolo Jurdao continues his work of synthesis and simplification. Synthesis is defined as “a complex thing that results from bringing together different elements that were dispersed or separate, organizing and relating them.”
He composes a whole from disparate fragments that, while possessing their own distinct character, adjust and transform their individual nature to form a cohesive and complete work.
In all his works, figurative forms coexist with geometric elements within abstract settings composed of planes of color, perhaps the main protagonist.
Acrylics on canvas and cardboard depict landscapes and figures without defined features, generally frozen in time. The resulting forms approach a kind of authentic plastic poetry that runs throughout his work.

Manolo Jurdao Valderrama was born in Barcelona in 1959, the son of parents from Málaga who had emigrated to that city. In 1974, he returned to Málaga with his family, and in 1979 he enrolled at the School of Arts and Crafts.
In 1993, along with other painters, he formed the Obelisco Group, which carried out, among other projects, the “Art in the Street” artistic activity in the Plaza de la Merced in Málaga. He has participated in the artistic decoration of television series for Canal Sur TV and in more than one hundred exhibitions, both solo and in group shows, in several countries.
His works are part of public collections in Málaga, as well as private collections in various countries.
