Charo Carrera: The Legacy of Egeria

Charo Carrera presents with this sample the legacy of Egeria. The oldest known travel narrative in Spain was written in the 4th century by Egeria, a cultured Hispanic woman from El Bierzo, who recounted her adventures in letters addressed to her friends and acquaintances.
A traveler, belonging to the aristocracy, who traveled the world and left a record of it in her <<Itinerarium ad Loca Sancta>>, which remains in the library of Arezzo (Italy).
The exhibition presented by Charo Carrera in Alfajar Sala, The legacy of Egeria, is a tribute to said woman, an approach to an imaginary of her archaeological finds and her spirit of adventure and curiosity, with which the author identifies fully.
