Botella bisel mediana

REF: 0136

104,00€

Medium bevel bottle with rectangular shape. The mouth and the top of the bottle in the shape of a bevel add originality to the piece. Dimensions: 15x7,5x31cm.

Botella bisel mediana (Medium beveled bottle) has a unique surface treatment, handmade with iron, manganese, cobalt oxides and ash glazes, combining wax reserve and sgraffito techniques. It is fired in a single firing at 1250º C in an oxidizing atmosphere. The entire process is completely manual and carried out in our Alfajar workshop by the hand of our artisans. Each piece has the handwritten signature of its author. We can observe the variety of shapes in container design throughout history. In Alfajar, the legacy of the typologies of ceramics from Ancient Greece survives today, evolving in form and decoration, marking the style of an era. Bottles and vases of great beauty, with different uses, adapting to the needs of each client.

Botella bisel mediana (Medium beveled bottle)

The Alfajar imaginary of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures together with the pure abstraction of lines and colors adapt perfectly to the different shapes and sizes. We can find from the mythical bulls, to the classic plates, bottles or jewelery boxes. An infinity of shapes that will fill your home with warmth. All these pieces are made 100% by hand in Malaga, Spain. After 30 years of experience, we can assure that the objective of Alfajar is to express the inner relationship of each person with the world, and therefore, with the nature around them. In this case through sculpture, transferring that relationship with the world to a round shape and with the wide range of bottles and vases we have. The shapes are inspired by traditional vases from the different cultures that once populated the Mediterranean: Etruscan, Iberian, Mycenaean, Muslim, Greek and Roman, although treated with a coherence of style that implies geometrically stylized silhouettes and a simplification of volumes and structures. Cubism and expressionism also play a very important role in our work. Our intention is to achieve that synthesis between the simplification of classical Mediterranean forms and the avant-garde of the 20th century, in this case applied to sculpture.

Important information

All the pieces are different and unique, that is what it makes them special . After the purchase process, you will receive a piece with the same style as the one you are seeing, but the drawings and final finish of the enamels may vary a little. Everything is hand made.

Can I put water inside my ceramic?

There are some models that are designed expressly for that, as is the case of vases. These models are enameled inside, which waterproofs them and prepares them for use with water. In the event that they are not enameled inside, it could easily be refilled with water, but the base would ooz a little water, like the example of Spanish “botijo”. The ceramic body would not be damaged but a small plate would have to be placed underneath.
