From August 8th to September 30th, you can visit the new exhibition at Alfajar Sala: Painting and Ceramics Uniting North and South.
Alfajar Sala once again houses its owners’ most recent pieces. The exhibition will be open from August 8th to September 30th, next to the Cathedral, at C/ Císter, 1, door 2, Málaga.

“Austral” is a whisper of distant lands, an echo of cultures and traditions that beat in the identity and memory of the South. This exhibition seeks to emotionally connect the ceramic and pictorial work of our collective imagination with the artistic expressions of the southern hemisphere.

The exhibition combines ceramics and painting, with the characteristic style and signature of the Alfajar artisans. Colored ceramics fired at low temperatures and their most recognizable technique: high-temperature reserve, with their own oxides and glazes. The paintings by the father of the family are done in acrylic, with the brushstrokes of experience. But the exhibition also surprises: fruits that are not fruits, large and small totems, boats sailing in the air…

The family that owns Alfajar, José Ángel Ruiz, Lola Díaz, and their two daughters, Diana and Paula, has been dedicated to ceramics for more than three decades. They have created their own recognizable style, blending the traditional with the modern, ancient shapes and their own, and that range of colors so characteristic of their works.
