Although her work can be considered abstract, landscapes, flowers, meadows, forests, rivers and lakes… birds, fish, insects, ceramics… are still highlight with vivid and intense coloring that invites you to get lost in every detail. The color seems to move throughout the painting, imprecisely, contained by intentionally drawn lines. Sometimes she uses collage to create different sections that enrich the whole painting.
Pepa uses crayons to give the final details, freely and standing out against the background. Through short, defined brushstrokes, fields of flowers and grass take shape, while larger areas that disappear into the horizon are formed by large spots that merge with each other. Pepa’s use of color is attractive and pleasant, sometimes with pastel tones, other times with explosions of vivacity, other times letting her inner child come out.
Pepa Pérez-Enciso is a versatile artist who expresses herself through painting (watercolour, acrylic…), sewing, collage, etc. With training at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid, for many years she has dedicated herself to textile creation. For some time now she has been totally devoted to painting as a form of expression. Fascinated above all by colour, she finds her inspiration in nature, which she represents very freely, approaching abstraction. She has participated in numerous exhibitions, especially in Madrid and Córdoba, and has been awarded with several painting prizes.
