Estanislao Lanza: Caronte
November 1 – December 10, 2019
Estanislao Lanza presents his exhibition Caronte.
His work with new materials to make ceramics is very striking, it makes one think as if he painted or treated the surfaces after the pieces came out of the oven. Those materials that appear rocky are not handled after leaving the oven. The artist works to achieve those cracks, to place fabas-stones in their place or to make the materials drain.
He works both flatter and volumetric pieces, making use of light and modulating everything in harmony.
Estanislao Lanza works in his workshop in Villaviciosa, investigating topics such as astronomy, landscape, society and his relationship with his son.
