Ninfa II is a ceramic sculpture of a nymph made of stoneware on an iron stand. The surface treatment is unique, handmade with iron, manganese, cobalt oxides and ash glazes, combining wax reserve and sgraffito techniques. It is finished in a single firing at 1250\u00ba C in an oxidizing atmosphere. Support included in the price.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nymphs are the divinities of clear waters and springs; they spawn and raise heroes, according to classical mythologies. They arouse veneration and fear at the same time. They represent, in the collective imagination, the expression of feminine attributes and constitute the source of inspiration for our sculptural version of the nymph.<\/span><\/p>\n

The beauty of Ninfa II.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Countless times women are represented as muses or nymphs, divinities that arouse veneration and fear at the same time. They represent in the collective imagination the expression of feminine attributes that constitute an eternal source of inspiration. In Alfajar we always keep this beauty in mind, varying the way of representing them in different supports and materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

After 30 years of experience, we can assure that the objective of Alfajar is to express the inner relationship of each person with the world, and therefore, with the nature around them. In this case through sculpture, transferring that relationship with the world to a round shape and with the wide range of bottles and vases we have.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shapes are inspired by traditional vases from the different cultures that once populated the Mediterranean: Etruscan, Iberian, Mycenaean, Muslim, Greek and Roman, although treated with a coherence of style that implies geometrically stylized silhouettes and a simplification of volumes and structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cubism and expressionism also play a very important role in our work. Our intention is to achieve that synthesis between the simplification of classical Mediterranean forms and the avant-garde of the 20th century, in this case applied to sculpture.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Ceramic sculpture of a dancer in stoneware on an iron stand.
