Caballo hierro y p\u00e1tina (Iron and patina horse) is a sculpture with stylized shapes and a base with round wheels. Multiple symbolic meanings converge, sometimes opposed or contradictory, in the horse. In the memory of many cultures is a common belief to associate the horse with the darkness from which it arises, galloping like blood in the veins from the bowels of the earth or the abysses of the sea. It is at the same time, bearer of death and life, linked to the destructive and regenerating fire.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Iberian term to refer to our peninsula, already applied in classical Greece, adds connotations of assimilation of the characteristics of the multiple peoples that have invaded and occupied it. In our case it refers to the formal styling inspired by the representations of Iberian Art.<\/span><\/p>\n

Caballo hierro y p\u00e1tina (Iron and patina horse)\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Alfajar imaginary of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures together with the pure abstraction of lines and colors adapt perfectly to the different shapes and sizes. We can find from the mythical bulls, to the classic plates, bottles or jewelery boxes. An infinity of shapes that will fill your home with warmth. All these pieces are made 100% by hand in Malaga, Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

After 30 years of experience, we can assure that the objective of Alfajar is to express the inner relationship of each person with the world, and therefore, with the nature around them. In this case through sculpture, transferring that relationship with the world to a round shape and with the wide range of bottles and vases we have.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shapes are inspired by traditional vases from the different cultures that once populated the Mediterranean: Etruscan, Iberian, Mycenaean, Muslim, Greek and Roman, although treated with a coherence of style that implies geometrically stylized silhouettes and a simplification of volumes and structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cubism and expressionism also play a very important role in our work.
