Toro super grande (Super large bull) is a stoneware work. The surface treatment is unique, handmade with iron, manganese, cobalt oxides and ash glazes, combining wax reserve and sgraffito techniques. It is finished in a single firing at 1250\u00ba C in an oxidizing atmosphere. It is presented mounted on a black lacquered wooden base.We offer the option to customize it with text, logos, etc. laser engraved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each piece is a unique work 100% handmade in Malaga, Spain, that includes the handwritten signature of its author.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The bull represents the celestial gods in the Indo-Mediterranean religions. It is a symbol of power and ardor, as well as creative force. In classical mythologies there are multiple references to the bull: Zeus takes the form of a bull of dazzling whiteness to seduce and kidnap Europa; the bull is also the fierce guardian of the Labyrinth of Crete. These attributes, which permeate our cultural heritage, among others, inspire our different versions of the Alfajar bull.<\/span><\/p>\n

Toro super grande Alfajar (Super large bull)<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Alfajar imaginary of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figures together with the pure abstraction of lines and colors adapt perfectly to the different shapes and sizes. We can find from the mythical bulls, to the classic plates, bottles or jewelery boxes. An infinity of shapes that will fill your home with warmth. All these pieces are made 100% by hand in Malaga, Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

After 30 years of experience, we can assure that the objective of Alfajar is to express the inner relationship of each person with the world, and therefore, with the nature around them. In this case through sculpture, transferring that relationship with the world to a round shape and with the wide range of bottles and vases we have.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shapes are inspired by traditional vases from the different cultures that once populated the Mediterranean: Etruscan, Iberian, Mycenaean, Muslim, Greek and Roman, although treated with a coherence of style that implies geometrically stylized silhouettes and a simplification of volumes and structures. Our intention is to achieve this synthesis between the simplification of classical Mediterranean forms and the avant-garde of the 20th century.<\/span><\/p>\n
