Bifronte (Bifronte Sculpture) is a piece made of stoneware, individually treated on its surface with iron, manganese and cobalt oxides, under an ash glaze, using a mixed technique of wax reserve and sgraffito, fired in a single firing at 1250\u00ba C. All the totally manual process is carried out in our Alfajar workshop by our artisans. Each piece has the handwritten signature of its author.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through the different stages of art history, the female body and its interpretations have been one of the most used motifs in paintings, sculptures and photographs. In these works we can observe the ideals of beauty and feminine aesthetics through symmetry, the order of forms, the use of curved lines and the precision of the author to represent the female body in each historical moment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bifronte (Bifronte Sculpture) represents a woman’s torso with two faces.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The female nude shows the beauty of nature, like the embodiment of desire through centuries. The discourse on the female nude shows different categories of healthy, beautiful and young bodies. Throughout the history of art, its representation has focused on complying with the ideals of beauty and aesthetics that have been changing in recent years.<\/span><\/p>\n

Women, muses, nymphs, divinities that arouse veneration and fear at the same time. In the collective imagination, they represent the expression of feminine attributes and constitute an eternal source of inspiration. In Alfajar we always keep in mind the beauty of these bodies, varying the way of representing them in different ceramic forms and materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

After 30 years of experience, we can assure that the objective of Alfajar is to express the inner relationship of each person with the world, and therefore, with the nature around them.
