Lenticular grande dos bocas asa (Large lenticular two mouths with handle) <\/span>is one of the most original shapes within the lenticular variety made in stoneware. Each piece receives an individualized surface treatment that makes it unique and unrepeatable, with the handwritten signature of its author. All our pieces are 100% handmade in Malaga.<\/span><\/p>\n

The phase that most characterizes our work is the surface treatment. It is always done by hand and individually in each piece with the technique called wax reserve. We have adopted this ancient technique, delving into all its possibilities and providing some differential aspects to adapt it to our form of expression.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lenticular grande dos bocas asa (Large lenticular two mouths with handle): between water and wax.<\/span><\/h3>\n

The technique for applying the surface treatment is based on the reciprocal repulsion between the wax and the water used as a vehicle for the application of the iron and manganese oxides and the ash glazes, formulated by us. One way to increase the graphic possibilities of the wax reserve is to complement it with another ancient technique: sgraffito. The resulting mixed technique confers a distinctive character of our ceramics, in a chromatic range that includes the black and red of the oxides and the whites, ochres, and blues of the ash glaze.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lenticular pieces are made of stoneware by reproducing them in plaster molds made from prototypes of our creation. They are elaborate pieces decorated and glazed that are finished in a single firing at 1200\u00ba C in an oxidizing atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

All our lenticular pieces are inspired by the shapes of traditional vases from the different cultures that have populated the Mediterranean: Etruscan, Iberian, Mycenaean, Muslim, Greek and Roman, although treated with a coherence of style that implies a geometric stylization of the silhouettes and a simplification of volumes and structures.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lenticular shape with two mouths and a handle.
